Winter is almost at a close. I guess Mother Nature has been asleep the entire season....and woke up pissed. I have no idea how much snow is outside because thankfully I'm warm and toasty indoors. Though I did step out long enough to capture some quick shots...trust me, it was quick!
I am feeling lethargic tonight. I had to force myself to blog before I got comfy on the coach watching some obscure movie I've seen a million times and catching up on my favorite blogs. I knew once my pajama butt was settled I wouldn't move for anything.
I used textures for every piece today. Snow is...snow. It's bland and not very inspirational for me. I needed color, so that's what I set out to do.
I think I'll add the first photo to Etsy tomorrow...thoughts?
Stay warm and dry!

In the depth of Winter - My first Etsy Treasury
I can't believe I'm starting this post out by mentioning weather...but it is, what it is! As with the majority of the east coast, it's been a very mild winter indeed. By this time in a normal season I would be sick of cold weather and snow. This weekend was only our second real "snow" of winter. I've been meaning to do a Etsy Treasury for a while, but lacked the inspiration. Waking up this morning to 20 degrees and snow on the ground was all the inspiration I needed.
I spent entirely too much time on this task, but I wanted it to be a true representation of the morning. I included prices ranged from $5.99-$3,200 and arranged them by color. Winter white, winter blue (light blue) and winter grey. I'm not a huge fan of white but there is something about a cute pure white accessory in winter that I just adore.
I cannot take credit for the title as it is my friend's favorite quote. She wrote it on front of my birthday card and it hangs above my head at work. I'm consistently inspired by it. “In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer” -Albert Camus.

I'm on Fire
Baby it's cold outside. No I'm not singing Dean Martin's classic song...ok now I am. We all woke up this morning to snow on the ground. After basking in 60-70 degree weather for the past few weeks anything lower than 50 is cold.
I figured a great way to stay warm (and possibly destroy my camera so I have to buy a new one) was to take photos of the fire my husband built. I hate to brag (okay that's a lie) but the photos turned out pretty toasty. :)
A great song to go along with these photos. Bat for Lashes (one of my faves) cover of "I'm on Fire" by The Boss.

My Window
Day 26. We didn't get hardly any snow here. Though some of my friends that live in BFE did get more than me. I was hoping for at least an inch or two so I could have some pics..."But as Deepak Chopra taught us, quantum physics means that anything can happen at anytime and for no reason. Also, eat plenty of oatmeal, and animals never had a war! Who is the real animal?"-Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth (Futurama).
I was able to write a poem today, shocking I know. I used to write at least once a week...sometimes once a day. I never expect anyone to understand what I write simply because it's what I'm feeling...and I don't always understand it myself :).
I wrote the poem after I took the photos so that's the order I'll post it.
Through my window
I can see the world
Frantically passing me by
Winter has a way
Of making you crazy
Unable to enjoy this life
I should have bottled the sun
To save it for today
To find the warmth somewhere
Through my window
The world moves forward
While I never know.
1-26-11
Until tomorrow. <3

Running On Fumes
It's day 21. yay. (sarcasm) I've hit a rut and I hope I'm out of it soon. Maybe it's not a rut, maybe it's the fact I'm running on 5 hours of sleep...I'm a 10 hour a night person (I don't have kids) so trying to stay alive on half of that really messes with your brain...just ask anyone at work lol.
Enough with the belly-aching though.
Last night there was rain, snow and ice. The following photos are the result.

I deliberately have too much sky in this shot. I need to see blue this winter!
Hopefully tomorrow is better. Fingers crossed.
Night all <3
